* WHAT...West winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southwest, west central, and western Maine and central, northern, and southern New Hampshire. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect the power outage threat to continue through the rest of tonight into Tuesday morning in areas that have significant ice remaining on trees. Power outage threat will remain elevated in these areas as cold air and the gusty winds cause ice loaded branches to snap.
Concert Canceled on August 20

Park Visitor Center Closed August 24, 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM
The Saugus Iron Works Visitor Center will be closed from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 24. The building will be open from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. All other park buildings and guided tours will be available on their regular schedule.
Visitor Center and Wharf Restrooms Closed Due to Weather
The Salem Armory Regional Visitor Center and wharf restrooms will be closed on Sunday, February 16 due to inclement weather.
COVID-19 Mask Requirement
Consistent with CDC guidance regarding areas of low and medium transmission, masks are optional inside all park buildings.
Maintenace Work on Central Wharf
Maintenance work will take place at the end of Central Wharf starting on Monday, November 7th. The last two hundred feet of the wharf will be closed for a few days while the work is underway. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Public Stores and Scale House Closed Nov. 9 & 10
The Public Stores and Scale House will be closed on Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10 due to construction. These exhibits will reopen on November 11 (weather permitting).
Visitor Center Theater Closed for Event March 29-30
The theater at the Salem Armory Visitor Center will be closed for an event on March 29th and 30th. The Visitor Center will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.
Derby Wharf Closed Due To Weather
Derby Wharf will be closed all day Friday, December 23, due to the anticipated storm and hazardous weather.
Park Holiday Hours for December 24, 25, and January 1
The Waite & Peirce Park Store will be open from 10 am - 5 pm on December 24. The Central Wharf Restrooms and Salem Armory Visitor Center will be closed. All park buildings will be closed on December 25 and January 1.
Park Films Unavailable March 23-24.
The films "Where Past Is Present" and "Witch Hunt: Examine the Evidence" will not be available Saturday, March 23rd and Sunday, March 24th at the Salem Armory Visitor Center ahead of the Salem Film Festival.
Park Buildings Closed on Saturday, March 4th
Due to the incoming winter storm, the Salem Armory Regional Visitor Center, Waite and Peirce Park Store, and Central Wharf restrooms will all be closed on Saturday, March 4. All three buildings will reopen for regular hours on Sunday, March 5.
FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM altered hours October 19-20
For safety reasons "Friendship of Salem" will be opening at 2:30 pm on October 19 and closed on October 20. Park staff will be at Derby Wharf from 1-4 pm to offer talks and information.
Debris and Obstructions Along Derby Wharf
Coastal flooding along Salem Harbor on January 13 left a variety of debris and obstructions along Derby Wharf. Park staff are working to address the issue. Please use caution while walking along the wharf.
Narbonne House Closed on September 5
Narbonne House will be closed to the public on Thursday, September 5th. We apologize for any inconvenience. The Salem Armory Regional Visitor Center and Waite & Peirce Park Store will be open regular hours.
