About

Pawtuckaway State Park campground occupies a prime location along the wooded shores of Pawtuckaway Lake in Rockingham County. The 192 campsites range from tent-only to standard sites accommodating small RVs, with many offering views of the lake. Five cabins with electricity are also available for those seeking a bit more comfort. Each campsite comes equipped with a fire ring and picnic table, with flat areas for tents and a dedicated parking space. The campground is well-appointed with two fully equipped 24-hour bathhouses on Big Island and Horse Island featuring flush toilets and coin-operated showers. A camp store on-site offers supplies and rents canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats. A boat launch provides easy water access for those bringing their own craft. Leashed pets are welcome in the campground and on hiking trails but not at the beach day-use area. Beyond camping, Pawtuckaway offers extensive recreational opportunities including over 25 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, swimming at the beach, fishing, and exploring the unique boulder field. The park's diverse terrain and proximity to the Seacoast region make it a popular destination for both weekend getaways and extended stays.
