Sakatah Lake Bike-in Campground

Open

Open for the season. All Minnesota state park campsites require a reservation; same-day reservations are available online or by phone at no additional fee. The park's modern restroom building operates early May through mid-October.

About

Nestled within Sakatah Lake State Park in Le Sueur County, the bike-in campground caters exclusively to cyclists traveling the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail. The five tent sites sit adjacent to the paved 39-mile trail that connects Mankato and Faribault, passing through rolling terrain and hardwood forests alongside Upper and Lower Sakatah Lake. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, with drinking water and vault toilets available 350 feet away at the Upper Group Camp. The sites are shaded and offer secluded privacy from both the main campground and the trail. The park office features a nature store where visitors can rent canoes and kayaks or borrow fishing equipment at no charge. Sakatah Lake State Park spans both Upper and Lower Sakatah Lake, natural widenings of the Cannon River. The lakes offer opportunities for paddling, fishing for walleye, largemouth bass, northern pike, and panfish. Three miles of the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail run through the park, with additional hiking trails available for exploration.
