About

Minneopa State Park Campground sits within one of Minnesota's most distinctive state parks, where visitors can observe a free-roaming bison herd and witness the state's largest waterfall along Minneopa Creek. The campground occupies a wooded area with 68 single-family sites arranged in two loops, accommodating tents, trailers, and RVs up to 60 feet. Six sites offer electric hookups, and a rustic log cabin provides year-round lodging with electricity and a propane fireplace. Standard amenities include flush toilets, hot showers (fee-based), drinking water, and an RV dump station. Each campsite features a picnic table, fire ring with cooking grill, and a tent or RV pad. The park's Bison Drive provides opportunities to see the herd from your vehicle, operating Thursday through Tuesday with seasonal hours. The campground serves as a base for exploring the park's trail system connecting to the dramatic Minneopa Falls, restored prairies, and historic sites including a wind-driven gristmill. Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota DNR reservation system.
