About
Saddlehorn Campground provides a front-row seat to the dramatic sandstone formations and deep canyons of Colorado National Monument. Located four miles from the west entrance near Fruita, the campground is organized into three loops totaling 80 sites. Loop B operates year-round, while Loops A and C open seasonally from April through October. The landscape features Utah juniper and pinyon pine trees that provide shade among the red rock terrain. The campground caters primarily to tent campers and smaller RVs, with a maximum combined vehicle length of 40 feet in Loops A and B, and 19 feet in Loop C. Each site has a picnic table and charcoal grill. Flush toilets operate year-round and potable water is available. There are no hookups, showers, or dump station on-site. Fire restrictions prohibit wood-burning fires year-round; only charcoal and gas grills are permitted. Historic Rim Rock Drive provides access to overlooks and trailheads throughout the monument.
