About
Jouflas Campground is an established campground located in the Rabbit Valley Motorized Area within the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area near the Colorado-Utah border. The campground features 14 designated campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire grate, designed primarily for tent camping experiences. The campground is named after the Jouflas family, whose ranching history in Rabbit Valley is commemorated through interpretive signage on-site. The access road is a loop configuration and does not accommodate vehicles longer than 30 feet, making it best suited for smaller rigs and tent campers. The campground provides vault toilet facilities but no potable water, so visitors must bring their own water supply. Located just off I-70 at exit 2, the campground offers convenient access while providing a quiet desert camping experience. Rabbit Valley is known for its extensive network of motorized trails popular with ATV and motorcycle riders, as well as mountain biking opportunities. The area offers dramatic desert canyon scenery and is part of the larger McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area. The campground operates on a reservation system through Recreation.gov with a 7-day stay limit.
Directions
From Grand Junction take I-70 west to exit 2. Go left at the stop sign and over the interstate to the entrance to the National Conservation Area. Stay right at the first two intersections.
