About

Ruedi Marina Campground sits on the shores of Ruedi Reservoir in the White River National Forest, approximately 14 miles east of Basalt along Fryingpan River Road. The 8-site campground accommodates RVs only (no tent camping) at an elevation of 7,800 feet, with sites featuring picnic tables, fire rings, bear-proof food lockers, and parking spurs. The Fryingpan River below Ruedi Dam is renowned as some of Colorado's finest fly fishing water. The stretch from the dam to the Roaring Fork River confluence has been designated Gold Medal Waters by the Colorado Wildlife Commission, with special regulations requiring artificial flies and lures only, catch-and-release for all trout except brown trout (limit two over 14 inches). Trout here grow large feeding on Mysis shrimp stocked in the reservoir. The Ruedi Trail north of the reservoir provides an 8-mile hiking route gaining over 3,000 feet to Red Table Mountain for panoramic views. Boating, swimming, and water skiing are available on the reservoir. Mandatory boat inspections are required for all vessels to prevent the spread of zebra and quagga mussels.
