About

Fulford Cave Campground is a primitive, first-come-first-served campground located at high elevation in the White River National Forest on the Eagle-Holy Cross Ranger District. The campground sits in a sparse stand of young aspen, spruce, and fir trees, adjacent to an active beaver pond and East Brush Creek. From this vantage point, campers enjoy views of Yeoman Park below. The namesake Fulford Cave lies less than a mile from the campground via trail. Cave access requires mandatory online registration and gear decontamination; the cave itself is closed October 15 through April 15. Other trails from the area enter the Holy Cross Wilderness for day hiking and backpacking opportunities. Sites are small and clustered together, with only one site able to accommodate a vehicle up to 25 feet long. The final mile of Forest Development Road 415 to the campground is narrow and rocky. A food storage order is in effect requiring all food and refuse to be stored in hard-sided vehicles, approved bear-resistant containers, or suspended at least 10 feet off the ground and 4 feet horizontally from supporting trees or poles.

Directions

From Eagle, follow Brush Creek Road 10 miles south. Turn left onto East Brush Creek Road (FDR 415) and drive 7 miles southeast. The last mile to the campground is a narrow and rough rocky road.
