About

Round Lake Cabin is a Forest Service rental cabin or lookout located within the Custer Gallatin National Forest in Park County, Montana. Like other USFS rental cabins in the Gallatin National Forest, this facility offers visitors a rustic backcountry experience with basic shelter in a remote mountain setting. The cabin is situated in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem, an area known for its diverse wildlife including black bears, grizzly bears, elk, moose, and mule deer. Visitors must follow strict food storage regulations that are enforced throughout the Custer Gallatin National Forest. Typical USFS cabins in this forest provide basic amenities such as bunk beds with mattresses, a wood-burning stove for heat and cooking, and basic cookware. Guests are generally responsible for bringing their own water, bedding, food, fire starters, flashlights, and other personal supplies. Most cabins include an outhouse with vault toilet and a fire ring outside. Guests must pack out all trash and clean the cabin before departure.
