About
Crazy Creek Campground is a recently-upgraded Forest Service campground with 16 sites situated on a bluff overlooking Crazy Creek at approximately 6,900 feet elevation in Shoshone National Forest. Located along the scenic Beartooth All-American Highway (US 212) near its junction with the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway, the campground provides an excellent base for exploring the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The campground offers vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings at each site, with bear boxes provided for required food storage. No potable water is available as the water system is currently inoperable. Sites accommodate vehicles with spurs up to 28 feet, and there is a 16-day stay limit. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. A highlight of this location is access to the Crazy Creek trail, where a short hike from the campground leads to Crazy Creek Falls. The area offers excellent wildlife viewing, fishing opportunities, and serves as a launching point for exploring the surrounding national forest lands.
