About

Rocky Neck State Park campground sits on the Connecticut shoreline along Long Island Sound, providing campers access to one of the state's finest beaches. The 155 sites span five camping loops named after shorebirds: Heron, Egret, Crane, Osprey, and Seagull. Sites range from wooded settings to open grassy areas, with most accommodating trailers up to 35 feet in back-in configuration. Three rustic cabins are also available for those seeking a bit more shelter. The park's half-mile crescent beach is known for its soft, stone-free white sand, with swimming permitted at West Beach. A five-mile trail network features boardwalks and bridges through varied coastal habitat. Campground facilities include bathhouses with hot showers, dishwashing stations, potable water taps, and a free dump station for registered campers. Firewood is available on-site, and fire rings and picnic tables are provided at each campsite. Pets are strictly prohibited in the campground and on the beach from May 1 through October 1, though they are allowed on leash in picnic areas and hiking trails north of the train tracks. The park offers all-terrain beach wheelchairs with advance reservation. The campground enforces a 21-day maximum consecutive stay with a mandatory 5-day departure between visits.
