Devil's Hopyard State Park Campground provides a rustic camping experience in the heart of one of Connecticut's most distinctive parks. The 21 wooded sites offer privacy and direct access to the park's scenic trails, including those leading to the 60-foot Chapman Falls and the Eight Mile River. The campground is well-suited for tent campers and those with smaller RVs or trailers. The campground operates seasonally from mid-April through mid-October. Amenities are limited to pit toilets and pedestal cooking grills; there is no potable water available anywhere in the park due to water quality concerns, so campers must bring their own supply. No hookups are provided. Reservations are required and can be made through ReserveAmerica up to 11 months in advance. Notably, pets are prohibited at this campground, unlike some other Connecticut state forest camping areas. The maximum stay is 14 consecutive days with a six-person limit per site. Youth group camping is also available at two designated sites accommodating up to 50 and 30 campers respectively.
