Devil's Hopyard Picnic Shelter is a reservable day-use facility located within Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, Connecticut. The shelter provides a covered gathering space with picnic tables and pedestal cooking grills for group events and family outings. Pit toilets are available on-site. The park itself encompasses over 1,000 acres and features Chapman Falls, a dramatic 60-foot cascade over Scotland Schist stone formations. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, fishing, and bird watching. Note that water at the park is not safe for drinking; bring your own supply. This facility does not offer overnight camping. Campers seeking overnight accommodations should book at the separate Devil's Hopyard Campground, which offers 21 wooded sites and operates from mid-April through mid-October.
