Rocky Gap State Park Campground occupies a forested valley in Maryland's Allegany County, where campsites are arranged in six distinct loops (Ash, Birch, Chestnut, Dogwood, Elm, and Hickory) beneath a canopy of hardwoods. The 243-acre Lake Habeeb anchors the recreation, providing swimming, fishing for largemouth bass and trout, and seasonal canoe/kayak/SUP rentals from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The campground's private beach is reserved for registered campers. Facilities include bathhouses with hot water in each loop, a dump station, camp store, snack shack, and the Scales & Tales Aviary at the nature center. Thirty-three sites offer 30-amp electric hookups, while the remaining 225 standard sites are non-electric. Ten mini cabins and one yurt provide alternatives to tent/RV camping. A family group site accommodates larger gatherings with a two-story cabin, six electric hookups, and a group fire ring. The surrounding park contains over 15 miles of trails ranging from easy lakeside walks to rugged mountain routes. The Evitts Mountain Trail climbs to panoramic views, while the Canyon Overlook Trail follows cliff edges above the gorge. Adjacent to the park, the Rocky Gap Casino Resort provides additional dining options.
