About

Rocky Branch Seasonal Campground is located on the Enoree Ranger District of Sumter National Forest in the southeastern corner of Fairfield County. This primitive hunt camp serves hunters during South Carolina's big game seasons, offering 10 first-come, first-served campsites in a dense pine forest with hilly terrain at approximately 500 feet elevation. The Broad River flows a couple miles west of the campground, while Rocky Branch and Rocky Creek flow through the area, eventually merging into the Broad River. The campground provides a rustic setting ideal for hunters pursuing whitetail deer and wild turkey, with the surrounding Piedmont forest sustaining abundant wildlife populations that make this one of the most desirable hunting areas in the state. Beyond hunting, the area offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, plant observation, berry picking, photography, and fishing access along the Broad River. The climate features long hot summers with temperatures in the high 80s to high 90s, and mild winters with early winter temperatures ranging from the low 40s to upper 60s. This is a no-frills camping experience with vault toilets and no potable water or hookups. Campers must bring their own water and be prepared for primitive conditions. During big game season, visitors should wear blaze orange for safety. The campground operates on a quiet time policy from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Hunting and fishing are regulated by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
