About
Rocky Bluff Campground offers solitude in a wooded setting on the Appalachian District of the Pisgah National Forest, located just 3 miles south of the historic town of Hot Springs. The campground sits along Spring Creek, a North Carolina Mountain Heritage Trout Water that winds through deciduous oak forests and is stocked with brook, brown, and rainbow trout, making it a paradise for trout anglers. The 1.2-mile Spring Creek Nature Trail circles the campground and meanders beside the creek, offering peaceful walks through the forest.
The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the surrounding recreation opportunities. Three different trailheads originate from the campground itself, and the famous Appalachian Trail runs directly through Hot Springs. The French Broad River, located in Hot Springs, is popular for whitewater rafting, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. The town of Hot Springs has been a well-known relaxation destination for centuries, with natural hot springs as the main draw, along with restaurants, art galleries, shopping, live music, and festivals.
