About
Riverview Recreation Area is situated below the dam at Enid Lake in north-central Mississippi, providing a scenic day-use destination for families and groups. The facility offers 22 individual picnic sites, each equipped with a grill, serve table, and picnic table, along with three reservable picnic shelters that can accommodate larger gatherings.
Recreational amenities are extensive and include a volleyball court, softball field, soccer/football field, horseshoe pits, a half-mile fitness trail, outdoor fitness exercise area, playground, and bank fishing opportunities in the old river run. Three accessible comfort stations with flush toilets are strategically located throughout the area. The pavilions and picnic sites are nestled among towering oak trees, with surrounding woods providing habitat for squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, deer, butterflies, geese, and a variety of birds.
Located just off Interstate 55, approximately 56 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, Riverview Recreation Area serves as an ideal location for day trips focused on picnicking, playing sports, fishing, walking, and cycling. Nearby day-use areas at Enid Lake offer additional amenities including boat ramps, life jacket loaner boards, beaches, and amphitheaters. The towns of Water Valley and Batesville provide shopping, dining, lodging, and emergency services.
Directions
Take exit 233 off Interstate 55 toward Enid Lake. Go east on County Road 36 for 0.8 miles. Turn right on Enid Dam Road for 0.2 miles. Turn right onto County Road 35 for 0.4 miles. Turn right on County Road 517 to arrive at the destination.
