About
McCurdy Point Recreation Area is a day use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the north end of Enid Dam at Enid Lake in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. The recreation area provides excellent access to the lake for boating and fishing, with a year-round boat ramp, courtesy boat dock and pier, and bank fishing opportunities. The facility features 6 individual picnic sites equipped with grills and tables, 3 single covered picnic sites, and a large group picnic shelter available for reservation. An accessible comfort station with flush toilets serves visitors.
The picnic areas and amenities are nestled among towering native pine and oak trees, providing shade and habitat for local wildlife including squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, deer, butterflies, geese and a variety of birds. A fish cleaning station is available for anglers. The area is conveniently located off Interstate 55 at exit 233, making it easily accessible for day trips to enjoy picnicking, boating, and fishing on Enid Lake.
This is a day use area only and does not offer overnight camping. Nearby camping is available at other Enid Lake campgrounds including Wallace Creek, Persimmon Hill, Chickasaw Hill, Ford's Well, and Water Valley Landing. The nearby towns of Water Valley and Batesville offer additional services including shopping, restaurants, and hotels.
Directions
Take exit 233 off Interstate 55 toward Enid Lake. Go east on County Road 36 for 0.8 miles. Take a left onto County Road 38 for 0.4 miles. Take a right onto County Road 189 and you have arrived at the destination.
