About
Hickory Ridge Recreation Area is a day use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the north side of Enid Dam at Enid Lake. The area offers 38 individual picnic sites with grills and tables, two group picnic shelters, and an amphitheater that seats up to 150 people, making it ideal for family reunions, weddings, and special events.
The recreation area features a swimming beach with life jacket loaner boards, outdoor showers, a basketball court, and two playgrounds. Three comfort stations provide flush toilets, including one accessible shower house. Picnic shelters and the amphitheater can be reserved for $50 per day, while individual picnic sites and the beach ($5 fee) operate on a first-come, first-served basis during the open season.
Nestled among native pine and oak trees, the area offers scenic views of Enid Lake while providing habitat for deer, squirrels, raccoons, and various bird species. Located just off Interstate 55, the facility is easily accessible and close to the towns of Water Valley and Batesville for additional services. Note: This is a day use area only; no overnight camping is available at this location.
