About

Riverside West Campground sits on the west bank of the Neosho River in the rolling hills of Coffey County, Kansas. Part of the John Redmond Reservoir recreation area managed by the Army Corps of Engineers, this 168-acre park features 25 campsites with electric and water hookups, along with one large reservable picnic shelter. John Redmond Reservoir offers nearly 10,000 acres of water and 30,000 acres of land, providing excellent opportunities for fishing, hunting, and water sports. Anglers will find white crappie, white bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and various sunfish species in abundance. Several trails wind through the surrounding hills and along the shore. The nearby Otter Creek ATV area provides 140 acres of trails for dirt bikes and ATVs. The broad Neosho River Valley features rolling hills with views of agricultural land and native grasslands including bluestem, Indian grass, and switch grass. Lower areas provide wooded cover of elm, black walnut, hickory, ash, hackberry, cottonwood, and cedar.
