River Camp

River Camp is a semi-primitive campground situated along the Carson River within Lahontan State Recreation Area in Churchill County, Nevada. The 11 well-spaced sites sit on flat, high desert terrain with sparse vegetation, though some cottonwood trees near the river provide limited shade. Each site includes a fire pit and picnic table, making it suitable for both tent camping and smaller RVs up to 30 feet. The campground offers a more secluded experience compared to the developed Beach #7 campground. Portable toilets are the only restroom facilities available at River Camp itself, though a sanitary dump station is located near the park entrances. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The location provides easy access to Lahontan Reservoir's 69 miles of shoreline for boating, fishing, and water recreation. Reservations are available through ReserveNevada.com. Camping rates are $15 per vehicle per night for Nevada-registered vehicles and $20 for out-of-state vehicles. The maximum stay is 14 days within a 30-day period. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet.

Located on Highway 95A, approximately 8 miles south of Silver Springs, Nevada. The campground entrance is within Fort Churchill State Historic Park.
