In south central Nevada, Northeastern Nye and Northwestern Nye. * WHEN...From Saturday evening through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. In addition, flash flooding is possible over recently burned areas like the former Ward Fire, Kearny Fire, Oxley Fire, Secret Pass Fire, Star Valley Fire, Jones Fire, and Egberts Fire. Other burn scar locations in the watch area could also be affected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep moisture from decaying Hurricane Rachel is expected to move northward, crossing into portions of east-central and eastern Nevada late Saturday night through roughly Monday. This significant moisture will interact with upper level low pressure to bring widespread showers with isolated thunderstorms to the watch area. The National Weather Service in Reno NV has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM PDT Saturday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 274 Southern Mono County, 420 Northern Sierra Front including Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Southern Washoe, Western Lyon, and Far Southern Lassen Counties, 421 Southern Sierra Front including Alpine, Northern Mono, Southern Lyon, and Western Mineral Counties, 423 West Humboldt Basin in Pershing County, and 429 Lahontan Basin including Churchill and Eastern Mineral Counties. * TIMING...From 11 AM to 9 PM PDT Saturday. * WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum Humidity between 14 to 22 percent. * DURATION...3 to 6 hours. * IMPACTS...The combination of gusty winds and prolonged dry conditions, even in areas where humidity may not be as low, can cause fires to rapidly grow in size and intensity before first responders can contain them.

The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * Affected Area...Fire Weather Zone 424 Southeastern Humboldt County and northern Lander County. * WIND...Sustained winds up to 20-25 mph, gusts 35-40 mph. * HUMIDITY...Humidity as low as 20-25% Saturday. * Impacts...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. High winds may impact active wildfires to spread further. Outdoor burning is not recommended. The combination of gusty winds and low humidity will create critical fire weather conditions.
