About

The Silver Springs Group Use Area is a designated group camping facility at Lahontan State Recreation Area, located along the Lahontan Reservoir in western Nevada. This developed group site offers amenities including restrooms, picnic tables, and grills, making it suitable for organized group outings and gatherings. Lahontan Reservoir spans 17 miles with 69 miles of shoreline, providing excellent opportunities for water-based recreation. The reservoir is popular for fishing walleye, white bass, hybrid wiper, catfish, and trout. Boating and water skiing are permitted, though boat ramp availability may vary with water levels. The recreation area is located off U.S. Highway 50 near the town of Silver Springs, approximately 18 miles west of Fallon and 45 miles east of Carson City. A sanitary dump station is available near the park entrance. Reservations are required through Reserve Nevada, with a 14-day camping limit within any 30-day period enforced.

Directions

From Carson City, travel east on U.S. Highway 50 for approximately 45 miles to Silver Springs. From Fallon, travel west on U.S. Highway 50 for approximately 18 miles. The park entrance is accessible from multiple points off Highway 50.
