About

Dayton State Park Campground sits along the banks of the Carson River in one of Nevada's oldest settlements. The small campground offers just 10 sites, providing a quieter camping experience compared to larger state park facilities. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and barbecue, with flush restrooms and drinking water available on-site. The park's location makes it ideal for anglers targeting walleye, white bass, hybrid wiper, catfish, and trout in the Carson River. Two short trails lead from the campground to the river and to the historic Rock Mill Site, remnants of the area's mining past. The shaded group-use area with picnic facilities is available for day visitors. The campground can accommodate RVs up to 34 feet but operates as a dry camping facility with no hookups. Reservations can be made through reservenevada.com from 3 days to 11 months in advance. Camping is limited to 7 days within any 30-day period. Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
