About

Right Bank Recreation Area stretches two miles along the right bank of the Cumberland River (Cheatham Lake), just upstream from Cheatham Lock and Dam. The temperate climate allows for a lengthy recreation season with boating, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. Beautiful old trees provide cool shade throughout the park. The area offers five reservable group shelters: Cottonwood, Beachside, Willey's, Red Bud, and Sycamore Creek. Beachside is the largest with 16 picnic tables, while Red Bud has 12. All shelters include water hookups, 20-amp electric service, multiple BBQs, and dedicated parking. Red Bud and Willey's are the only shelters with fire pits, and Willey's also has a fireplace. The park has three public restrooms, individual picnic tables with grills, and a designated swimming beach with sand (no lifeguard). For traditional overnight camping with individual tent and RV sites, campers should book at the adjacent Lock A Campground, which offers sites with electric hookups at $24-$28 per night.
