About

Lock A Campground is a well-equipped US Army Corps of Engineers facility on the north bank of Cheatham Lake in north-central Tennessee. The campground offers 45 spacious sites, all with 50 amp electric hookups, paved parking pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. Seven sites are designated tent-only while the remaining accommodate RVs up to 50 feet. The campground operates on a reservation-only basis through Recreation.gov with no walk-up availability. Facilities include modern restrooms with hot showers, flush toilets, and a dump station. Recreation options abound with a boat launch, courtesy floats, swimming area, playground, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. The temperate Tennessee climate allows for boating, swimming, canoeing, and fishing throughout the lengthy recreation season. For hikers, the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail is a 6.5-mile rails-to-trails route that crosses Sycamore Creek on a historic abandoned railroad trestle. The Pardue Pond and Dyson Ditch Wildlife Refuges on the opposite side of Cheatham Lake offer excellent bird watching and nature exploration.
