About

Reedy Creek Campground is a small, primitive campground located on the Arbuckle tract of Lake Wales Ridge State Forest in Polk County, Florida. The campground offers 5 tent-only sites and 3 RV/tent back-in sites, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Potable water is available on-site, and two portable toilets and a garbage dumpster serve the area. The RV/tent sites accommodate vehicles up to 15 feet and are ADA accessible. The Lake Wales Ridge scrub ecosystem surrounding the campground may have the highest concentration of rare and endangered plants in the continental United States. Recreation opportunities include fishing, hunting during designated seasons, 25 miles of hiking on the Arbuckle Trail, bicycling, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing. Bears and raccoons frequent the area, so proper food storage is required. Advance reservations are required for all sites. Fires are permitted only in the provided fire rings and grills. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Off-highway vehicles are prohibited on the forest.
