About

Kilpatrick Hammock Campground serves as the gateway to Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park, protecting over 54,000 acres of Florida dry prairie. The family campground features 35 spacious sites with water and 30-amp electric hookups capable of accommodating RVs up to 65 feet. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and ground grill. A centrally located bathhouse provides flush toilets, hot showers, and laundry facilities, all ADA accessible. Beyond the family campground, the park offers 10 equestrian sites with 50-amp service, water, and individual paddocks, plus three primitive backcountry sites accessible only on foot or by bike. Luxury glamping in safari-style tents provides climate-controlled comfort with coffee makers, mini-fridges, and private fire pits. Recognized in 2016 as Florida's first Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association, the preserve offers some of the best stargazing in the state. The campground sits 5 miles from the park entrance, deep in the prairie where the Milky Way becomes brilliantly visible on clear nights. Trails near the campground provide access to wildlife viewing, birding, and exploration of this rare ecosystem.
