About
South Dickey Lake is a day-use-only facility on the shores of beautiful Dickey Lake in Kootenai National Forest, not a campground. The site provides access to a grassy swimming beach and offers opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and water skiing. Anglers can expect kokanee salmon, kamloop, and rainbow trout. The reservable group picnic area accommodates up to 75 people. Facilities include accessible vault toilets, potable drinking water, picnic tables, and campfire rings with grills. The area is surrounded by larch and fir trees at an elevation of about 3,100 feet. In spring and early summer, loons can often be heard from the beach. Overnight camping is not allowed at this location. Visitors seeking overnight accommodations should make reservations at North Dickey Lake Campground. The site is located 20 miles from the U.S.-Canadian border and 65 miles from Glacier National Park's entrance.
