Malibu Creek State Park Group Campground provides a group camping experience in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, just four miles south of Highway 101 on Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon Road in Calabasas. This walk-in tent camping area sits approximately 100 yards from the parking lot and can accommodate groups ranging from 10 to 60 people with up to 16 vehicles. The group camp features modern amenities including flush toilets, token-operated showers (accepting one dollar bills only), potable drinking water, and fire rings for campfires when fire conditions permit. An RV dump station is available nearby. Dogs are permitted in the campground but not on backcountry trails or dirt roads. The park encompasses over 8,000 acres of rugged wilderness formerly part of the 20th Century Fox movie ranch, including the famous M*A*S*H television series filming site. Visitors can explore 15 miles of trails through oak and sycamore woodlands, volcanic rock gorges, and scenic pools along Malibu Creek. Activities include hiking, fishing, bird-watching, mountain biking, rock climbing, and horseback riding.
