* WHAT...Dangerous rip currents and breaking waves with isolated sets up to 6 feet due to elevated surf from southerly swells. * WHERE...Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...Through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A series of southerly swells will continue to impact Southern California through much of next week.

Temporary Closure of Main Entrance at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa

Starting August 25, the main entrance to Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa will be closed for gate installation, but the area and hiking trails remain open with alternative parking at Wendy Trailhead. Entrance will reopen on August 28.
