The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Thursday afternoon. * Winds...North winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts 30 to 40 mph, strongest along the far western Sacramento Valley. * Humidity...Daytime minimum humidities of 9 to 15%; Overnight maximum relative humidities 25 to 50% * Highest Threat...Along and west of the Interstate 5 corridor in the Sacramento Valley. * Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low humidity can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity. Outdoor burning is not recommended

Sacramento Group Camping is part of Brannan Island State Recreation Area, situated on Highway 160 a few miles south of Rio Vista in Sacramento County. The park occupies the lower peninsular extension of Brannan Island, bordered by the Sacramento River to the west, Three Mile Slough to the southeast, and Seven Mile Slough to the northeast. Six group campsites are located in the north section of the park near the day use area. Each group site can accommodate up to 30 people and 10 vehicles, making it suitable for youth groups, organizations, and large parties. Amenities include flush toilets, outdoor cold showers, drinking water, fire rings, picnic tables, and an RV dump station. The park also features a 10-lane boat launch, fishing access, beach and swimming areas, and hiking/biking trails including a 3-mile accessible loop trail. The Ramadas group picnic area offers shaded structures with large barbecues and an open grassy area for activities. Dogs are permitted on leash (6 feet max) but restricted to paved roads and campsites only, and must be kept inside tents or vehicles during nighttime hours.
