Warriors Path State Park

About

Warriors Path State Park encompasses 349 acres on a distinctive peninsula shaped by the meandering Raystown Branch of the Juniata River in Bedford County. Named for the historic Great Indian Warpath used by the Iroquois in raids with the Cherokees and other tribes, this seasonal park showcases some of the best examples of natural stream meandering in Pennsylvania. The park is primarily a day-use area open from mid-April through the end of October, with limited overnight facilities. The primitive group tenting area accommodates qualified organized groups of up to 80 people and operates from April through October 31. The camping area features picnic tables, two large fire rings, water, and pit toilets, but no showers or electricity. An adjacent pavilion with electricity is available for a separate fee. Parking within the camping area itself is prohibited. The park offers trails through diverse habitats including hardwood forests, old fields, wetlands, and woodlands, providing access to unique ecological areas along the river.
