About

Humbug Mountain State Park campground occupies a scenic stretch of the southern Oregon coast near Port Orford, at the base of the park's namesake 1,765-foot peak. The campground operates year-round with 95 total sites divided between 39 electrical sites with water hookups and 56 tent-only sites with water available nearby. Five of the electrical sites are pull-throughs, and two feature ADA-accessible design. Facilities include flush toilets with showers, and firewood is available for purchase on-site. The park's main draw beyond camping is the 5.5-mile trail to Humbug Mountain's summit, which rewards hikers with south-facing ocean panoramas. The Oregon Coast Trail also passes through the park, making it a logical stopover for long-distance hikers. A dedicated hiker/biker camp serves those traveling by foot or bicycle. A separate picnic area with a gazebo is located about half a mile from the main campground, though it lacks potable water. Reservations are available up to six months in advance through Oregon State Parks' reservation system. The campground's coastal location means mild but often rainy winters and pleasant summers, with fog common during morning hours.
