About

Hopeville Pond State Park campground sits within a 544-acre park in Griswold, Connecticut, built around the historic Hopeville Pond and the Pachaug River. The 80 campsites are nestled in a heavily wooded setting, with some sites accessible directly from the water for paddlers. Site types include standard non-electric, electric with water hookups (50 amp available), tent-only sites, and a single rustic cabin that sleeps up to six. Facilities include bathhouses with hot showers, potable drinking water, a dump station, and a recycling center. Each campsite is equipped with a fire ring and picnic table, and firewood and ice are available for purchase. The park is known for its water sports, with fishing being especially popular. Other activities include swimming at the beach, boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, and wildlife viewing along the nature trails. Note that alcohol is permanently banned throughout the park and campground. Pets are not permitted in the campground or beach area.
