Incorporated into the Connecticut State Park system in 2001, Salt Rock Campground preserves 149 wooded acres spread over two parcels in rural eastern Connecticut. The campground provides over one mile of riverfront access along the Shetucket River, making it an excellent destination for family camping trips. The campground features 57 campsites including 22 electric sites (with sites 1-7 upgraded to 50 amp service), 20 non-electric sites, 13 tent sites, and 2 group camping sites. Most sites accommodate up to 6 people with driveway lengths ranging from 16 to 35 feet. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, and ADA accessible restrooms. Each site includes a firepit, though campers must bring their own grates or grills for cooking. Fishing along the Shetucket River is a popular activity, with a Connecticut fishing license required for anyone 16 years or older. The campground also features amenities such as horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, play fields, and trail access. Reservations are managed through Reserve America and can be made 1 day to 11 months in advance, with a maximum stay of 14 consecutive days.

Directions

Take Exit 83 off I-395. Go left and follow Route 97 through Baltic. The campground is 2 miles north on the left, just past Salt Rock Road.
