About
Green Falls Campground is a rustic camping destination within Pachaug State Forest, Connecticut's largest state forest at over 27,000 acres. The campground features 17 wooded standard sites, all back-in with a 26-foot maximum equipment length. Sites include picnic tables and accommodate up to 6 people. The campground operates without drinking water, showers, or electric hookups, making it suited for campers comfortable with primitive conditions. Green Falls Pond is the primary attraction for fishing and non-motorized boating, with a boat launch on site. Nearby Beachdale Pond is stocked with trout and contains bass, pickerel, and bullhead, and features a wheelchair-accessible fishing platform. The surrounding forest offers extensive opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and hunting in season. Cell phone coverage is very limited throughout the area. Pachaug State Forest is an alcohol-free facility, and ATVs are strictly prohibited. The southern entrance to the campground passes through private property, and the speed limit on Denison Hill Road is 10 mph.
