Green Falls Campground is nestled within Pachaug State Forest, Connecticut's largest state forest encompassing over 26,000 acres across six towns. The campground features 18 wooded campsites that provide a rustic camping experience perfect for those seeking solitude and natural scenery. Located near Green Fall Pond, campers have convenient access to swimming and fishing. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and firepit. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the extensive network of trails throughout Pachaug State Forest, which are available for hiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and motorcycling. Cell phone coverage is very limited in the forest, making it an ideal destination for disconnecting from modern life. The campground operates without modern amenities like showers, RV hookups, or drinking water, emphasizing a more primitive camping experience. Reservations are made through Reserve America, and the campground welcomes one pet per site on leash. Alcohol is prohibited throughout Pachaug State Forest. Access via the southern entrance on Denison Hill Road passes through private property, so campers should observe the 10 mph speed limit and respect neighboring landowners. Forest roads close seasonally during winter months.
