Boyd Lake State Park is a premier water-recreation destination on the western edge of Colorado's plains, featuring 1,700 surface-acres of water at capacity and 2,082 land acres. The park offers excellent opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, and wildlife viewing, with Long's Peak providing a dramatic mountain backdrop. The campground contains 140 paved pull-through sites designed for easy access and departure. Each site is equipped with 20-, 30-, or 50-amp electrical hookups, a picnic table, and a grill. Three modern restroom buildings with showers are distributed throughout the campground, and a camper services building provides laundry facilities during the warmer months (closed November through March). A dump station is available for RV waste disposal. Winter camping is available November 1 through March 31 with reduced services. During this period, only the A-loop restroom remains open and laundry facilities are unavailable. The park gate has a clearance of 14 feet 2 inches.
