About

Located within the expansive George Washington Management Area, the 100-acre Casimir Pulaski Memorial Recreation Area serves as a premier day-use facility in northwestern Rhode Island. The park centers around the 13-acre Peck Pond, which offers a supervised swimming beach during summer months. Two reservable picnic shelters accommodate up to 25 people each and are available during the operating season. The recreation area provides year-round outdoor opportunities for all skill levels. Spring brings first-class trout fishing to Peck Pond, while summer visitors enjoy swimming, hiking, and picnicking. The park features multiple trail systems, including the historic Walkabout Trail created by Australian Navy sailors in the 1960s, which connects through the adjacent George Washington Management Area. In winter, the park serves as a gateway to 10 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails. Pulaski State Park operates as a day-use only facility with no overnight camping available. The nearest overnight camping is at George Washington Campground, located approximately 2 miles away. Visitors should note that boats and flotation devices are prohibited on Peck Pond, and fluorescent orange clothing is required during hunting season in the surrounding management area.
