West Hill Park sits where the West River widens to form a large natural pool, offering a family-friendly day-use destination in the Blackstone Valley. The park features two sandy swimming beaches with calm, clean water, plus a separate designated swim area for pets. Nearly 5 miles of trails wind through 567 acres of white pine and red oak forest, wetlands, and rolling meadows, providing excellent wildlife viewing and birding opportunities with over 200 species recorded annually. Facilities include three group picnic shelters that can accommodate 30 to 100 guests, making the park popular for family reunions, graduation parties, and organizational events. An accessible playground, sand volleyball court, charcoal grills, and picnic areas round out the amenities. Flush toilets and a change house are located near the beach. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping. The park hosts seasonal programs including the Family Fishing Fair in June and National Public Lands Day activities in September.

Directions

Take State Route 146 to the Whitinsville exit and turn left off the ramp. Go straight through Whitinsville to Route 122. Turn right and continue to East Hartford Avenue. Turn left and follow brown Army Corps direction signs.
