About

Westville Recreation Area is a day-use facility operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers at Westville Dam on the Quinebaug River. The recreation area spans portions of both Sturbridge and Southbridge, Massachusetts, offering a variety of outdoor activities without overnight accommodations. The park features two large group picnic shelters available for reservation through Recreation.gov, each equipped with electricity hookups for events. A shaded picnic cove provides additional tables and charcoal grills. Other amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, and a large 3-acre athletic field popular with softball and soccer players. Recreational opportunities include a network of hiking trails suitable for all ages, a canoe and kayak launch into the slow-current river, and fishing access. Winter activities include ice skating on the pond and sledding on the park's hills. The nearby Old Sturbridge Village living history museum is a popular attraction in the area.

Directions
