Boyington Mill Campground is a small, primitive riverside campground in Tahoe National Forest along the Little Truckee River, one of Northern California's best catch-and-release fly-fishing streams. Located at 5,700 feet elevation about 4 miles north of Boca Dam, the campground offers 12 single-family sites among sparse Jeffrey pine and fir trees with limited shade. Each site includes a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets are available but there is no potable water; campers must bring their own supply or treat water from the river. The campground accommodates tents, RVs, trailers, and camper vans up to 30 feet. Nearby recreation includes Boca Reservoir a few miles south and Stampede Reservoir six miles north, both offering boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. Lake Tahoe is 35 minutes away. OHV access to designated trails is available from the campground, though recreational OHV use within the campground itself is prohibited.

Directions

From Truckee, travel east on Interstate 80 for 10 miles to the Hirschdale Road exit. Follow Hirschdale Road approximately 5 miles north to the campground, located on the left along the Little Truckee River, 4 miles north of Boca Dam.
