About

Princess Creek Campground occupies a densely forested setting on Odell Lake in the Deschutes National Forest of central Oregon. The campground offers 29 sites tucked among towering Douglas fir, white fir, hemlock, and ponderosa pine trees with huckleberry common in the understory. Diamond Peak, an 8,744-foot shield volcano, stands as a scenic sentinel over the lake. Odell Lake provides excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, and windsurfing. The campground includes a boat launch for direct lake access. Both motorized and non-motorized boats are permitted, though afternoon winds can make conditions rough. Wildlife in the area includes deer, elk, pine martens, ravens, and occasional black bear. Nearby attractions include the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, Diamond Peak Wilderness, and the Newberry National Volcanic Monument with its Lava River Cave. A resort on Odell Lake offers lodging and a general store with camping supplies and fishing licenses.
