About
Gold Lake Campground is a 21-site facility nestled near the Cascade crest in Willamette National Forest, with several sites offering direct access to picturesque Gold Lake. The alpine forest setting provides a tranquil escape, and the adjacent Gold Lake bog is prime habitat for deer, elk, and beaver. A historic Willamette Winged log shelter, designed by William Parke and built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the early 1940s, stands in the day-use area. The 100-acre lake reaches 25 feet deep and enforces fly-fishing-only regulations. Gas motors are prohibited, though electric motors are allowed at slow-no-wake speeds. Non-motorized craft like canoes and float tubes are popular. The campground operates on a first-come-first-served basis with on-site payment via Recreation.gov's Scan and Pay feature. Facilities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. Each site has a picnic table. Dogs must remain leashed at all times. Chainsaw use is prohibited, and camping is limited to 14 consecutive days within any 60-day period.
