Closed for the season. The shelter is open for overnight stays from November 15 through April 30 only. Maximum stay is 3 nights. No reservations; first-come, first-served only. Must share shelter with other users.
Alcohol Prohibitions
This Order describes acts that are prohibited upon lands, roads and trails within the National Forest System administered by the Forest Service Pacific Northwest Region in regards to alcoholic beverages.
Aquatic Invasive Species
This Order prohibits 1) possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic invasive animal species AND 2) prohibits possessing, storing, or transporting any aquatic or riparian invasive plant species - on National Forest System lands in the Pacific Northwest Region as specified in the Order.
Restrictions on Use of Forage and Mulch Products

About
Maiden Peak Ski Cabin is a distinctive octagonal log shelter perched at 6,000 feet elevation on the west side of Maiden Peak in Oregon's Willamette National Forest. This fully enclosed backcountry cabin serves as a warming shelter and overnight destination for experienced cross-country and backcountry skiers, providing access to advanced skiing terrain on and around Maiden Peak. The shelter features a large sleeping loft, wooden floor, several benches, three tables, a solar lighting system, a large woodstove with rock hearth, and a covered entryway. It can accommodate up to 15 people overnight. The cabin is maintained by volunteers Chris and Kathy Jensen. Access requires a roughly 4-mile ski tour heading north on the Pacific Crest Trail from the Willamette Pass Sno-Park area. There is no drinking water and no restroom facility. Users must pack out all garbage and human waste, and candles are prohibited. The shelter operates on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved for exclusive use.
Directions
From Oakridge, follow Highway 58 east for 28 miles to Gold Lake Road (Forest Service Road 500). Follow Gold Lake Road for approximately 1 mile to the Maiden Peak trailhead on your right. From the Willamette Pass Sno-Park area, the shelter is reached via an approximately 4-mile ski tour heading north on the Pacific Crest Trail.
