About
Potters Creek Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the northern shore of Canyon Lake in the rolling hill country of South Central Texas. The park sits among juniper and native oaks on gently sloping terrain with sites ranging from shaded upper campsites to waterfront sites in full sun. The campground features 93 single RV sites with 50 amp electric and potable water hookups, 10 tent-only sites with water and 15 amp outlets, 5 multi-unit family sites with 50 amp and water, and 7 screened shelters with 15 amp outlets and exterior water access. All sites accommodate various camping styles from RVs to tent camping. Modern waterborne restrooms with hot showers are distributed throughout the campground, and two sanitary dump stations provide convenient waste disposal. Recreation opportunities are abundant. The park includes a designated swim beach for campers and a 2-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock for easy lake access. Outside the park, additional day-use facilities include another boat ramp and fishing dock available at no charge. Canyon Lake and the nearby Guadalupe River offer excellent boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. The lake is stocked with bass, catfish, and the river with trout. Surrounding hills provide hiking, biking, horseback riding, and wildlife viewing opportunities on five trails around the lake.
