About

Guadalupe River State Park sits in the Texas Hill Country northwest of San Antonio, encompassing four miles of the cypress-lined Guadalupe River. The park's camping areas are shaded by live oaks and offer direct access to the river's limestone bluffs and clear swimming holes. Turkey Sink camping loop provides 48 sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups, while Cedar Sage has 37 sites with 30-amp service. Both areas feature restrooms with showers. The Wagon Ford walk-in tent area offers 9 more primitive sites along the river terrace. Beyond camping, the park serves as a gateway to the Honey Creek State Natural Area, accessible only through guided tours on Saturday mornings. The main park features over five miles of hiking trails through grassland and woodland habitats. The river itself is the main attraction for most visitors, with several access points for swimming, tubing, and fishing. A Discovery Center offers interpretive programs, and the park store carries basic supplies including ice.
