About

North Park is a small, primitive camping area operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the shores of Canyon Lake in the Texas Hill Country. Perched atop a limestone bluff overlooking the lake and dam, the park has become well known as a destination for scuba diving, though it also attracts boaters and swimmers. The campground offers 20 tent-only campsites, each equipped with a picnic table, bench, fire ring, and grill with lid. Facilities are minimal: one vault restroom serves the entire park, and two water fountains provide potable city water. There are no showers, hookups, or dump station. RVs and 5th wheels of all sizes are prohibited. North Park operates on a limited weekend-only schedule from April 1 through September 30. Gates open Friday at 3 PM and close Sunday at 2 PM. Day use is not permitted; all visitors must have overnight reservations. Reservations are made through Recreation.gov.
