About

Located between Austin and San Antonio, Lockhart State Park is a quiet getaway showcasing Depression-era craftsmanship from the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration. The park offers 20 campsites split between two areas: the Fairway View Camping Area features 10 full hookup sites that can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, while the Clear Fork Creek Camping Area provides 10 water/electric sites nestled in a wooded setting along the creek. The park centers around a historic nine-hole golf course with club and cart rentals available. Anglers can fish Clear Fork Creek year-round without a license, and hikers will find interconnected trails winding through the landscape. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, a swimming pool provides relief from Texas summers. The CCC-built group recreation hall is available for reservations. Recently expanded by 188 acres through a partnership with The Nature Conservancy, the park now encompasses approximately 453 acres. An all-terrain wheelchair is available for visitors who reserve in advance online.
