About
Poplar Flat Campground is a pretty, forested campground located on the banks of the Twisp River in the Methow Valley Ranger District. The campground sits at 2,900 feet elevation and features a community picnic shelter and picnic area. With direct access to the Twisp River Trail #440 and proximity to other trailheads in the area, the campground serves as an excellent basecamp for hiking, mountain biking, and fishing. The campground offers 16 sites that can accommodate RVs up to 30 feet, with a maximum of 2 vehicles per site and either 2 tents or 1 RV and 1 tent per site. Access to the campground requires traveling 21 miles northwest of Twisp, starting on paved Twisp River Road (County Road 9114), which transitions to Forest Road 44 and eventually becomes gravel Forest Road 4440. The remote setting provides opportunities for wildlife viewing and a peaceful camping experience. The campground includes vault toilets and potable water from a hand pump. Payment can be made with cash, check, or via the Scan & Pay mobile system.
Directions
Turn west off State Highway 20 onto paved Twisp River Road (County Road 9114) for 12 miles. The road becomes Forest Road 44 for 5 miles (paved), then transitions to gravel Forest Road 4440 for 4 miles to the campground. Total distance is 21 miles northwest of Twisp.
